Irene Devastation

You can see the roof hanging off the back of our building

inside the LSOW side

Charisma :(

Boat in the road. This boat was besides my BF's sailboat. It went about 40 feet down the road and landed here. Marvin tied up his boat nicely. These people did not. Dumb? I think so

Another picture of the check-out booth at Charisma

You can see all the sheet rock and insulation that came through. We had already pulled out the soaking wet clothes before I took these pictures. Everything smelled horrible and was drentched.

The boat dock across from where Marvin has his boat. His is on land because he has been working on it. Mccotter's Marina lost both of their boat houses and the country club next to it was flooded also.
Here are a few pics of mine and from others of the damage to our small town of Washington. The boutique I work at part time now since school started back is gone for a while. Either Friday night or early Saturday morning the roof blew off so it was pretty much raining in our building. We had only been in this new location since about March. We had all worked so hard for this beautiful store and now it has been destroyed. We all were devastated. The Little Shops of Washington shop owners were able to save most of there stuff but it still got a little wet. All of our clothing in the front of Charisma Boutique got drentched (sp?) and had sheet rock and insulation all over it from the ceiling. The antique store I advertise for has 3 inches of water in there building and their floor is ruined. She now has to move until they get it replaced. My boss at the boutique is either going to move to another building or we will wait until the building owner repairs the damage. Hopefully to be finished by the end of October. Tons of my friends homes were damage. My parents have been without power since Friday night only running a generator for a couple of hours a day. Trees are down everywhere. Subdivisions are flooded. Its really bad. Please keep eastern NC in your thoughts and prayers.

  3. Thank you all. Everyone has been so helpful. People in my nursing classes lost their homes so I have been emailing back and forth with them. We have been out of school and don't have classes tomorrow because tons of people are still without power. We are pulling through though slowly but surely. Thanks for caring everyone! And ps my birthday is Thursday what a great way to celebrate a birthday. :/
